Prof. Djorgovski was one of the founders of the Virtual Observatory framework, which is now the global data grid of astronomy. He was the Director of the Meta-Institute for Computational Astrophysics (MICA), the first professional scientific organization based in Virtual Worlds, 2008-2012. Prof. Djorgovski was a valued Science Circle Board member between 2014 – 2016.
