Hendrix\, MD \n  \nWe will begin by examining what in the scientific milieu led to the discovery of the first antibiotic. We will consider the transition from Paul Ehrlich and the organically bound Arsenic Compound 606 to the emergence of “natural antibiotics” beginning with Fleming and Penicillin.
