The Science Circle maintains an OpenSim grid for more than 9 years.
We run a little grid for our Secondlife Science Circle members that want to get acquainted with OpenSim. We have 14 regions on our grid. Voice, Groups, Profiles, Hypergrid are working and stable. The grid and regions run on OpenSim 9.2.x. It is also possible to connect your own simulator region to the Science Circle grid. For more information contact us using the form. At the moment SC member, Aba Brukh is building Abyssinia. Virtual Abyssinia is my living museum on the Science Circle Grid, where I’m recreating ancient and traditional sites in Ethiopia and Eritrea, places I visited, some of which I helped excavate years ago, and which now I’m bringing to a new life on-line as an educational resource. I intend to develop and expand this project widely further, incorporating the latest archaeological discoveries. I originally created a similar project on Second Life, but technical & financial issues prevented its continuation. Many of the sites & artefacts that have been or will be represented are located in Tigray, the north Ethiopian province that now is undergoing a disastrous civil war. This project is dedicated to the people of Tigray & Eritrea, with urgent hopes for return to peace & stability.
There is a lot of activity lately in our grid. More members start to use the grid and have now running their science relation regions. More information will follow soon. Please contact me to get more information ! |
